FAQs   Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? Participating volunteers should be at least 4 years of age or older.  We ask that volunteers under the age of 14 be accompanied by an adult.     What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? We will arrange for additional parking, but we strongly encourage carpooling if possible.  We will have over 200 volunteers in attendance, so carpooling helps reduce parking congestion and ensure more people can join us.  We also recommend arriving to the event 15 - 30 minutes ahead of time.  This allows for enough time to secure a parking spot and check in.   What can I bring into the event? We recommend bringing the following items to the event: Closed Toed Shoes.  We will be working in off-road terrain, which will include areas with dense vegetation and brush.  As such, closed toed shoes are a must to ensure your safety and prevent injury. Water.  Hydration is key whenever you work outdoors, and the Bolsa Chica Wetlands are no exception.  There are few, if any, shaded areas, so to prevent overheating, please bring bottled water with you (preferably in a reusable water bottle). Layered Clothing.  Weather can change fairly rapidly here at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands, from cool and breezy to warm and sunny in as little as an hour.   Sun Protection.  A hat, sunscreen, and/or sunglasses are recommended here at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands.  We're located directly across the street from the beach, so make sure you bring appropriate sun protection. We do not recommend bringing these to the event.  In fact, these are prohibited here at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands: Dogs.  The presence of dogs can disrupt natural wildlife behavior.  Even the most mild-mannered canine can unintentionally frighten our local wildlife here simply because they resemble their native cousin, the Coyote.  Coyotes are natural predators to most life here and the native wildlife does not know the difference between coyotes and domestic dogs. Bikes.  Our trails are narrow enough where bikers can become a safety hazard to fellow hikers.  Additionally, fast moving objects (such as a biker) can unintentionally frighten wildlife and disrupt their natural behavior. Drones.  Drones are loud and, just like dogs and bikers, can frighten wildlife.  .   How can I contact the organizer with any questions? If you have any questions, you can contact Kenny Perez at or call our office at (714) 846 - 1114 between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.   Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No, you do not have to bring your printed ticket to the event.  When checking in, simply say you registered online and give us your name.   Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends? Because our registration process includes our waiver form, which is unique to the person who signs it, no.  The person who registers should be the person who attends.  If you are unable to attend for whatever reason, let us know and we can cancel your RSVP.  Anyone who does not register online for themselves will need to fill out a waiver form at registration on the morning of the event. I've arrived at 3842 Warner Avenue and I'm a little lost.  Where do I go to sign in? Look for the blue Bolsa Chica Conservancy canopies that will be deployed that day; that's where you'll be checking in.  (Look for the blue logo at the top of the page).  Make sure you go to the blue Bolsa Chica Conservancy canopies, or you'll accidentally be signing up with an entirely different organization.
